Tijuana is full of cheap souvenirs and touts is just what many people  cross the border for. But the city of nearly two million people has a mellower, more cultured side.
Driving in Tijuana is stressful, so we left our car in a parking lot on the United States side and walked across the border, a process that involves passing through two revolving gates separated by a walkway with a tourist information booth, money changers and travel agencies, an easy and uneventful process that takes about three minutes. (Although there are officials here who scrutinize people coming into Mexico, I have never had anyone ask me a question or request identification). Source: ahorre

Places to meet in Mexico: Playa del Carmen

Posteado el April 29, 2007 - Categorizado en Mexico Art and Culture, Mexico Cities Tourism, Mexico Events Tourism, Mexico Fashion Tourism, Mexico Meetings and Conventions Tourism, Mexico Places, Mexico Relax Tourism, Mexico Restaurants, Mexico Shopping, Mexico Tourism, Mexico Tourism Strolls, Mexico Tours

playadelcarmen2.jpgThis little Caribbean beach town has grown tremendously in popularity during the last decade. There’s a good reason for that - Playa is a fantastic place to spend your vacation, hang out, or live. The town has grown along the beach, so wherever you go, you will feel the closeness to the ocean. The main street is called Quinta Avenida, or 5th Avenue. Sometimes it’s just called La Quinta. It is a pedestrian walkway and a common point of reference.
Avenues, avenida in Spanish, run parallel to the beach. They are given numbers in increments of five, 5th Ave, 10th Ave, etc. Streets, calles, are perpendicular to the coast and they have even numbers north of Juarez and odd numbers to the south (see Playa del Carmen). Source: ahorre
